Couldn't agree more with the previous post, very food orientated but the Boot beer I had was pleasant enough. Nice outdoors area by the canal. We went there by train, but the service is very infrequent.

Now just called "The Dragon", this pub offers similar beers to it's sister pubs the Boot in Repton and Harpur's in Melbourne. We went in the other day and there were several Boot beers on offer, and although the Tuffer's Old had unfortunately just gone the Clod-Hoppers was in excellent condition.
Lovely location by the canal with outside seating at the back that adjoins the canal and additional seating at the front in front of the car-park/road with a small children's play area.
The Dragon is more of a restaurant than a pub and the food we had was pricey but very nice.

Things are changing at this place since my last review. Beer has always been good, and you get 20p off as a CAMRA member. The owners have just bought the adjoining cottage and are knocking into it to expand the eating area, moving the kitchen and adding the old kitchen to the bar area. They have also submitted a planning application for a microbrewery to make their own dollop. Good luck to them. In my opinion it was already the best pub in this village.

Not sure what this place thinks it is - a pub or a restaurant, but it fails on both. A family lunctime visit for a light lunch was more than a disappointment. Top price sandwiches / chips with minimal, poor quality ingredients served as if they felt they were Michelin-starred. We were chased out by the landlord who decided we weren't spending enough when we didn't respond to his nagging to buy more drinks or food. He was rude and clearly was only wanting to get as much money as possible and you could then push off. Well we did - and we're never going back!
