| Excellent pub food and some brilliantly chosen local ales and ciders make "the Axe" a popular place. The menu is intricate without being stuffy and deals (2-4-1 fish day on Weds or pie and a pint Tues) make the pub very popular. There is a good selection of beers and wines but the ever changing casks behind the bar make sure there's lots of variety. The only problems seem to be it is regularly fully booked up and isolated so someone always has to drive.
