Only guide dogs allowed in the bar so sat outside with our dog. Choice of Black Sheep bitter and Coquetdale Snitter bitter on our visit, the latter being very drinkable. However a family with a guide dog puppy in training went into the bar and the landlord promptly told them that the puppy was not allowed so they walked out too embarrassed to speak to us having chatted beforehand. They were closely followed by a couple staying in the pub's holiday accommodation who were disgusted by the landlord's attitude and vowed never to stay there again. We also will not bother until there is a change of licensee.

Left after being told that my disabled son was blocking his tables! Plus criticised for using the disabled parking space by grumpy locals-despite having a blue badge. Horrible pub, ignorant people.

Possibly the worst, grumpiest, service (from the landlord?) we've ever experienced. Pity, because the location is stunning and if the weather is good enough the kids can play on the beach while you drink. Food ok/passable depending on season. We have a holiday home nearby and we'd be in there EVERY day - if the present owner left.

Don't visit , I did and regretted it. Food is heated up frozen food which, considering it's location (next to a fishing community) ,is a travesty. The beer was ok but service atrocious. Most of the villagers have been banned and the landlord recently asked someone to leave because they had a pushchair..............amazing but true!! Visit the Ship at Low Newton or The Coach at Lesbury or Alnmouth pubs instead.
