Has made the good beer guide 2012..congratulations. pick_e_tippler - 7 Sep 2011 20:55
These days more a restaurant that a pub, but the beer is usually pretty good, in particular the Hoppit always seems to be in good order. However, the bar staff have a bad habit of topping up pints from a pint of something sitting beside the drip tray - no doubt under instruction from the landlady. The beer might be lively and difficult to top up, but I would like a fresh pint from the pump please! The new extention seems to be a bit of an abortion as are the new glowing toilets. What's the point of putting on a damned great extension to get more people in (presumably) and cutting down on the number of people who can go for a pee at anyone time? The food is good if a tad expensive. Mike_McCabe - 22 Jun 2011 13:30
Went there for their first beer festival today (and tomorrow) nice choice of local (Bucks) Rebellion, Vale and a few others. Good that a more 'foodie' oriented pub (actually an excellent restaurant by now) still cares for the ordinary drinkers, with even an big public bar area (and an even bigger and beautifull garden). Also had one of the most delicious meals since ... well since the last time I had a meal there. This time a nice salmon, last time the famous Aylesbury duck. Just a missed opportunity they didn't try to match the choice of ales with their menu. Lot's of opportunities there, though it might have required a few different beers. Still one of the best pubs in Aylesbury (certainly the best on food!) Cheers EnnioD EnnioD - 18 Jun 2011 19:33
Good ales including some local ones, very pleasant barmaids and relaxed surroundings. Food looked a bit pricy but could not fault the beers. mikey64 - 1 Sep 2010 20:55
A restaurant pub with two bar areas and 3 interesting ales for the drinkers - the resturant food is pretty good too. Very welcoming place - I believe it is free of tie hence the beer range. Booze_Allen - 17 May 2010 17:44
