This one of my favourites, it overlooks the estuary at Appledore and is great for a pint in the evening. Has hand-pulled local ales, Food is very good as well. And it's dog friendly!

Didn't visit before the refurb so can't say what it was like before but it is certainly a smart looking place now.
It has a fairly upmarket feel to the place with prices to match!
It is of course still in a great location in Appledore with a decent beer garden out the front to watch the world go by.

Now under new ownership. All music gigs cancelled - even Halloween, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Rumour is that it will close sometime during winter for refurbishment and re-open as hotel/restaurant with NO ENTERTAINMENT.

Regular Monday night music session and regular & Friday local musicians get-together with guests no longer take place. Very disappointed not to be able to play as usual. It used to be a big part of my holiday.
Fridays now have guest bands and people are no longer encouraged to join in. No longer a fun place to visit, with a different crowd inhabiting the place and no sign of any decent management or service.

Great folk band on last Monday night and well kept local ales too. Very busy with pilotgig (rowing of wooden boats by teams of 5 or more) contest on as well as Morris dancers on another evening. Staff were helpful and friendly.
