The Sun is situated in a great location next to the Minster and not far from the railway crossing. It has a main bar area where a band was setting up, a conservatory area to the rear and an outdoor drinking space beyond that. There is also a small separate seating area to the right as you enter. Furniture is minimal. Ales were York Guzzler, Morland Old Speckled Hen, Black Sheep Best Bitter, Greene King Doosra & Timothy Taylor Landlord. Ok, but certainly not the best pub in Beverley by a long shot.

Utterly shocking
I would have though this is a matter for the local constabulary too.

Last night my wife and I visited The Sun Inn and even had a game of bingo. During this, we noticed that the woman in charge of the laptop - which operated the numbers - was working with 2 of her mates and making sure that they won by adding numbers from their bingo tickets onto the laptop to generate the numbers that were called.

Despite all 3 of these frauds realising they were being watched, they carried on regardless until they had won both games. When I approached all 3 and told them that I knew what they were up to, they just laughed!

Now I know this isn't The Great Train Robbery or Brinks Matt, but it's disgraceful, dishonest and illegal; nobody else playing had a chance of winning anything, and we have been fleeced of our money. I'll be reporting this to Beverley council and the brewery!

I think this is the oldest pub in Beverley, been extended over the years. Now has live bands and is a popular place. Original parts still exist if you look around. Beers good but are very pricey. Check it out!

The women-folk had gone to look round the Minster so this was a handy pub for us blokes!! Black Sheep Bitter;Taylors Landlord and Old Speckled Hen on tap. Beer was fine and they sell Seabrooks crisps!! Sunday lunches were still being served even though it was 4.30pm and the advertised music hadn't turned up so we had a chance for a chat and a pint. Friendly staff and not too far for us to get back to the station. Look out for the "cellar" door. Beams and wooden floors. Not a bad boozer at all although it may be a bit different when the live bands are playing.
