| We visited the Chafford Arms on a Sunday lunchtime with our two children. The staff were very friendly and helpful in getting the kids settled into their seats. The menu was comprehensive, and we ordered a roast dinner, sausages and mash and fish and chips for the kids. The food arrived in about five minutes! Very worrying, as it was obviously all par cooked/microwaved. We were very disappointed as the location is excellent, and the garden would be great to eat in once the weather gets warmer, but the quality of the food was very poor. The pub itself was well presented, but not very busy, especially for a Sunday lunchtime. I expect this is why they could not order fresher goods as they would go to waste. - Perhaps they should have a more limited menu? This could be a little goldmine. Pubs in the neighbouring villages are very popular and have fantastic reputations for their food, and I think The Chafford Arms could learn a lot and become a great success. tantan - 6 May 2010 23:56 |
