Quiet in June. Some rough looking clientele and an odd smell. Not a good choice... miffy4boys - 27 Jun 2011 19:51
Being the first pub you come to on the high street, you would expect it to be a bit more inviting. Instead you get 50's decor and no atmosphere! The food is as bad as ever, all freezer to microwave rubbish! It appears that the staff are controlled by their surrounding and seem to make the best out of a bad situation! They must be very tollerant to take all the complaints and still manage to smile and be pleasant to customers! I take it CONSTABLE wasn't responsible for the hideous painting behind the bar! On the upside......... the beer was ok! aboutownies - 23 Sep 2010 21:46
An good sized looking pub situated on the main street just down from the harbour. Inside it is perhaps a little disappointing, not really living up to what you might expect. In fact with it’s blue carpet and blue bench seating, it reminds me more of a Conservative club than your average pub. There’s a large fan and some wood panelling on the ceiling giving a slightly colonial feel to the place. There’s a plasma at one end and a fruit machine, with a quiz machine and pool table at the other. There seemed to be a few chavs in on a recent Saturday night visit. Beers on tap were Courage Best and Doom Bar. Ciders were Strongbow and Weston’s Scrumpy Supreme. Blackthorn - 21 Sep 2010 18:43
No atmosphere and almost no beer. If bloody Doom Bar is the best option I might consider drinking lager................no, perhaps not. fugglehops - 24 Aug 2010 22:06
I have becoming to Looe now for several years. I have been to all the pubs in looe and i have to say this one is getting worse every year. The beer is overpriced. The food gets worse every year which is also overpriced. The place has no feel at all, Interior is back dated... Needs Investment password96 - 10 Aug 2009 22:08
