Now called 'The Blarney Stone', I walk past this place quite a lot and thought I need to see what it's like. It seems to say it's an Irish bar but there isn't anything Irish about it, except the sign and a statue of the statue of Liberty with an Irish flag draped around it. This place was quite mad to say I had come in here midday on a weekday. Locals and barmaid were friendly enough but the former were certainly taking advantage of the cheap prices. I thought I would try a Guinness in here and to my surprise it was actually quite nice and it only cost 2.40. To say at Pogue Mahones and Lanigans it cost me about 3.80ish for a Guinness that tasted like a Wetherspoons standard (and is meant to be more authenically Irish), this place out did them by quite a bit. It used to advertise Cask ale a few months back but all I could see were 3 vacant handpulls. A decent bit of whisky on offer as well. May be worth a look in to try a good pint of the black stuff around Liverpool.

Have been saving this pub for a rainy day, as it's on the way from the station to the Dispensary. It wasn't raining on Saturday and I soon knew why I had walked on by this pub many times before. There was a couple of handpulls, but no ale. The keg choice was Coors Light, John Smiths Extra Cold, Carling, Tetleys Smooth Flow, San Miguel, Guinness, Manns Chestnut, Fosters & Strongbow. Typical Liverpool boozer. Noticed an oriental guy sat opposite us. Didn't give him a second glance. He seemed to be quite happy. After about 10 minutes, he offered us some DVDs and then promptly walked out. Such is Liverpool pub life.

looks good from the outside but a major disappointment inside, both in terms of decor & also a total lack of ale. Choice of two different smooth flow bitters, never seen that before. Awful place- avoid.

Pretty average owl arse type of lager and keg bitter establishment with more standing space than seats. A bit too old style flock wallpaper for my liking.

Whenever I've been here they have the Racing channel on the TV.
There's a bookies next door which comes in handy for the drunk regulars of this pub which could be much much better!
