An average pub, nice indoor space and good selection of drinks. Food is dreadful, poor quality ingredients thrown together. Landlord pretty rude and aloof and you get the feeling children aren't really welcome. Best of a bad bunch of pubs in Timperley. Timperleyone - 16 Sep 2011 20:54
Very pleasant JW Lees pubs with a central bar with Lees seasonal beers plus regular offerings. The Chocaholic (£2.31) was superb. It's bigger than it first looks as there is room to sit the other side of the central bar. Has quiz nights. oftenscore6 - 27 Dec 2010 13:31
Went in last night (Saturday) for a few drinks. Nice atmopshere, bar staff friendly and they brought out free bacon butties at 10.45 so we were really pleased we stayed for that last drink! Only minor gripe is we had three rounds of a pint of Golden lager and a small glass of red wine and it cost a different amount each time (probably due to the array of different wines). whatsoever - 13 Sep 2009 11:11
The Trooper applied for a bigger and better situated beer garden a year or so ago but Trafford rejected the plans due to concerns from neighbouring properties about noise etc boddies_drinker - 5 Aug 2009 10:39
It is a shame they didn't put the beer garden round the back and away from the main road, with all the land they have (currently used as car park) you would have thought that was possible. whatsoever - 5 Aug 2009 10:37
