Due to close its doors forever in January 2016. So sad to see another old pub go to the developers. Best wishes to the landlord and hope he gets set up in a suitable replacement.

Have many happy memories of this place while living on the Queens Park Estate. OK, so it's not the smartest joint in town but the landlady was always very friendly and it's canal-side location made it a nice place to knock back a pint or two in the summer. With gastropubs such as the Paradise and the William IV up the road, surely there's room for an old-fashioned boozer like this. Loved the way we always knew when it was Christmas when the neon reindeer sign (a year-round fixture) was illuminated on the side of the pub.

Very much a locals' pub, by the canal, so no doubt in line for gentrification shortly. I went in while it was still a no-real-ale boozer and the Taylor Walker signage on the frontage was intact. Agreed, 'Westminster' may be its borough but it's Kensal Town, as are the Village Inn and Western Arms nearby.

I should have added: it's in the borough of Westminster, but geographically I'd say it's probably Kensal Town.

Paid a brief visit to this pub a while back. It hadn't previously been added to BITE and that probably tells its own story - this seemed to be a resolutely old-fashioned locals' boozer on a pretty down-at-heel stretch of the Harrow Road and I doubt many of the locals would be BITE regulars, to say the least. The net curtains don't make for a particularly welcoming exterior, but inside it was much better - neat and tidy, and very unspoilt by modernity. A large and quite airy bar with a raised stage area on the right-hand side, if I recall. It was empty but for the landlord when I visited. No real ale as far as I could see, but not an unpleasant place.
