After a heavy morning's walking, was looking forward to a pint in the village local, but, shock! horror! it was shut at lunchtime. The landlady, also village postmistress & shopkeeper, must have heard me rattle the doorlatch, and opened the door. She explained that they only open in the evening, but let me in. No cask ale, but a bottle of Summer Lightning, which was almost as good. 10/10 for service!
