Expensive, but to be expected in such a lovely setting. tommo5 - 10 Aug 2011 16:34
Used the pub on and off for years when working nearby. Many work do's over the years but a recent one in Dec 2009 was pretty rough and a lunch visit found ale to be pretty expensive with inattentive staff and some surly regulars. odbod - 25 Jun 2010 11:53
i like the pub, I like the Landlady but......the beer prices are astronomical!!!! £3.60 for Fosters!!!! Someone is having a laugh! wolvesfan - 6 May 2010 20:04
Popped in for a drink and meal yesterday and it was awful. The roast potatoes were well past their best if not inedible and the lamb was 50% fat. The meals were lukewarm and there was no check that things were OK or whether we needed further drinks. Don't be fooled by the look of the dining room into thinking this is a quality outfit. The toilets are via a pool room and swarm of flies so beware. RobS - 28 Sep 2009 09:28
Not bad, but not first-rate. Lunchtime food is pretty good. The curious thing is that all of the kitchen staff seemed to be playing pool in the pub's rear room (while people were waiting for food at 1:15pm). Possibly the kitchen staff have their lunch break during the time most people want to eat lunch? HenPen - 29 Aug 2009 18:05
