Best pub for miles around. Even the smoking area is heated in winter-what a bonus!

Visited with Mrs Monk, two friends and their daughter for Sunday lunch on 17 June. First ever visit to this quaint, old fashioned pub, which took me back to the 1970s right down to the Double Diamond electric pump on the bar. Three beers on; London Pride which was very good, the Adnams which Steve had and was also good but he got the last pint until Tuesday, and the guest ale the Reverend James which was also good. We had a reasonable lunch for a tenner, a roast and a pudding. Friendly landlady and serving staff and all in all pretty good. 7/10

Friendly local pub with tasty food at reasonable prices. Pub is on the Bromley Road backing onto countryside with excellent walks for dogs and ramblers. The pub is dog friendly, although there is a pub cat which likes to say hello. I enjoyed the home made Steak Pie with a nice pint of London Pride 3.20. My partner had the sausages and free range eggs. 2 Meals and 2 drinks came to 20. Portions are generous. Free house offering beer from Adams brewery as well as others. Beer garden in summer offers lovely views of the countryside.

The pub seems like it is out in the country side but its not far from Longridge Park. Before Longridge Park was built it was certainly more on its own. Alan & Sally Evens have had the pub for the last twenty five years. It has recently become a Freehouse after they bought it from Punch. Three hand pumps are now regularly in action with Adnams Bitter, Broadside and often Woodfordes Wherry. A blackboard lists the ales to the right of the bar. This is because one of the hand pumps is towards the other end of the bar which you may not see. I think The Bitter and Wherry are 2.85 with Broadside just over 3.00. The pub specialises in good value food and most of the tables are set for diners. There is a nice outside garden area with many wooden tables.
