We went there around 8pm last Saturday.

The first thing we had to do was get in through the door. This was being blocked by a fat, drunk lady with a tattooed breast, who was arguing with an equally drunk, thick looking male.

The place is small and was full, except we did get a small table, which was good. However, the place was deafening. Everyone in there was in a higher state of intoxication and as a result, were very loud indeed. One woman opposite kept cackling loudly at anything said to her.

I went to the bar. One of the barmen was far more interested in drinking his pint of lager to serve me. Another chap served me and it was a decent pint, although I cannot remember what it was as I had to stand my ground after another drunk 50something woman tried to push past me to squawk at a drunk on a barstool.

We sat down, barely able to hold a conversation above the shouting and screaming going on. We had that one drink and left.

I'll give it 2 for the quality of the pint I had. The rest of the rating went out of the door, with me, around the corner to the vastly superior Prince Of Wales.

I'd avoid this place, unless listening to squawking harpies and loud drunks is your thing.

I rated this pub as my pub of the day in Cerdigion. It was a nice way to round off a lovely day by the coast. There was nothing outstanding about the pub. It was simply a traditional Welsh hostelry clearly favoured by locals. Compared with other local pubs, it was heaving. The locals were friendly and all spoke Welsh. Although they recognised we were outsiders and spoke to us in English. All were older than us, even the one who was fast asleep outside on a metal chair. This would be my only concern for this pub and pubs like it. Will the younger generation frequent this place when the older generation are gone? Templeton Rebecca Riot Ale & Hancocks HB were the 2 real ales. They also have a good selection of bottled Gwynt y Ddraig ciders. Not the obvious choice for a visitor to Aberaeron. But the best for me.
