| One of the best pubs in Leicester. Despite being a Scream pub, Polar Bear retains a streak of individuality. It's a minute away from sister pub Soar Point, but has a completely different atmosphere, catering more towards the alternative scene. Food is generally excellent, with generous portions although I'd recommend avoiding the lunchtime rush. The barstaff might not sleep with you, but they seem to work hard to help create a friendly atmosphere in a pub that's great to chill out in and have a laugh. Unsuprisingly it is a student pub so if you're a fan of traditional pub decor or real ale, you might be disappointed. anonymous - 24 Jan 2006 22:05 |
| Can't believe this fizzy lager chain pub got in the final of Pub of the Year. Must be a lot of dim students doing the voting. Cheap rubbishy drinks and attractive barstaff maketh a pub not my friends (they'll never sleep with you anyway, the barstaff that is, you may get somewhere with the drinks tho).
