Brilliant proper village pub. I wish it was my local. 6 ales on gravity and 4 on hand pump, along with some Belgian fruit beers. I had Humpty Dumpty, B& T Two Brewers, Mauldons Silver Adder and Titanic Stout, all excellent and well kept. Good wine list and whiskey selection too (the forthcoming whiskey tasting evening is unfortunately sold out). We had Sunday roast in the dining room looking out onto the garden. Everyone was happy with their meal, we were offered more veg and gravy, and the desserts were lovely. I don't know what this says about Broome but whilst the Ladies' had a calendar of meetings for the local gardening club, the Gents' had a machine dispensing herbal viagra. Like I said, I wish it was my local. aleloz - 6 Mar 2011 16:21
Ticks many of the boxes you want to find in a pub. Well kept beer? yes, good and interesting range? Yes, Good Food? Yes. Lovely and well extended building, comfortable, busy, popular and friendly. No faults really. If you are in the area it's a must visit. imdownthepub - 22 Aug 2010 16:46
A lovely unpretentious pub. Very well kept beer, with a decent range including several on gravity. Very friendly, unflustered, landlord and staff, and decent pubh food. Worth it's many accolades. mtaylor40 - 31 May 2010 15:58
It is just too easy to rate this pub a ten, it is CAMRA's Norfolk pub of the year. It is run by two CAMRA members who show a real dedication to this pub, when they took it over it was in a poor state , now the place is thriving. Two ales at £2-00 a pint, a choice of eight beers which are carefuly selected. The pub is ultra clean. The cellar can be viewed through a window. Four beers on handpumpthe others are brought across from the cellar/taproom.Unmissable! slerpy - 1 Aug 2009 20:10
