Gardeners, Southfields - pub details
Description
Gardeners is a traditional English pub with a beautiful new refurbishment. It has a classic feel with a great fireplace and 5 real ales on tap.
The team really care about their product and the quality of the ales and of the home-made menu are wonderful.
Very rare to see is a list of 13 Malt Whiskies behind the bar! There is also a fairly eclectic world wine menu.
Please come and try us out. And feel free to leave us comments on here. If we are doing anything wrong, just let us know - either here or while you are at the pub! We'll try our best to sort it out for you!
Michael is the new landlord, and Stephen the tenant. Stephen and his sister Mary have another pub in Surbiton (The Waggon and Horses).
We all hope you enjoy your experience at the Gardeners and look forward to hearing your comments.
Enjoy your drink!

Top pub - I used to drink in there before, but now it's in a league of it's own. Seems to have attracted non-locals too, as it's very inviting, while keeping the old "diamonds in the rough" regulars. I agree about the bogs though - black tiles makes me feel like i'm in the 80s again (not a bad thing I suppose). Top bit of grouting, mind you! dsw - 9 Oct 2009 16:17
This run of the mill Young's outlet has improved big time since my last visit. The chavy landlady and her favoured knuckle scraping clientele have gone, and the premises have acquired a long overdue makeover. The result is an airy establishment offering a good choice of beers & wines and a great menu too., Notasaffa - 7 Sep 2009 00:00
Unrecognisable from the old gardeners and that's a good thing. Much improved, better garden and now there are three decent pubs within 200 yards. Beer wasn't perfect but I guess from the other reviews these are teething problems with the cellar. Not sure about the black gloss tiles in the toilets. Otherwise pretty good - good luck to the new team! parrygon - 5 Sep 2009 21:51
A successful refurbishment. New proprietor and staff keen to do well. Jolly nice to have Tribute on as a guest beer. Nothing outstanding about the food, but our burgers were good quality. Musak just a little too loud is my only criticism....apart from the (useless) lock on the gents lavatory. southfields - 5 Sep 2009 19:18
I have been here 4 times since the excellent refurbishment and have had 4 bad to indifferent pints of bitter. Have decided to stop visiting until I hear they have solved whatever problem they have with their cellar. trimalchio - 30 Aug 2009 14:59
