Solid pub. Excellent Russian winter on my visit

Lovely, welcoming pub, with straighforward, simple lunchtime menu which was good value, esp. the cold roast beef. Enjoyed a pint of the guest beer - Russian Winter from Itchen Valley. Well kept and tasty. Worth the detour off the A303/M3. Handy public car par nearby.

Lovely pub in the heart of Whitchurch. The bar staff are always welcoming, and the beer is fantastic.

Excellent village local selling well kept HSB, Courage Best and Goddards (Isle of Wight) a fourth pump was unused. Traditional two bar layout with a commanding pool table, juke box and TV in the front bar and a quieter lounge behind. Obviously an old building with quarry tiles and parquet flooring, beams, low ceilings and some exposed brickwork. Animated mainly 30 plus customers, a bar-back library of reference books on music and films suggests there may be some lively discussions here from time to time.
