MA Food Pub of the Year.

I agree with the earlier favourable comments but would recommend quieter times especially in the summer months. The pub attracts its fair share of showoffs on Fridays and Saturdays, who can detract from otherwise excellent surroundings and beers.

This truly a gem of a pub in the relative real ale desert of Halifax. Three resident real ales with another three guest beers normally available. Great staff, outstanding food and really friendly locals. I'd agree with the comments previously regarding the specially produced Shibden Mill Ale from Moorhouses, an excellent ale.

A nice pub tucked away, but worth the effort of finding. Food is good, beer is even better. I recommend the Moorhouses "Shibden Mill Bitter". This place still has some soul, with locals frequenting, and a slow turnover of staff - a rare thing these days.

this pub is very bourgois in the nicest sense.Plush clean and comfortable. An excellent selection of real ales including one brewed for them only.It is more of an eating place though with an extensive menu and has a good local reputation for food.It is a bit pricey as you might expect but well worth a visit.Transport is essential as it is in the middle of nowhere.Just beware that the dining area has an unprotected step down to the bar and it you are not careful you will fall down if-like I did
