Pleasant pub in a village with a mainline train station. The low beamed ceiling provides a challenge to anyone over about five foot eight who orders at the bar. Greene King IPA, Woodforde's Wherry, London Glory and Thwaites Wainwright on pump. That selection could be more inspiring, but hopefully changes over time. Large meal servings at reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

Oh dear. Please ignore my last remarks. We went in here the other night for the first time since the last landlord and landlady left to find that the place has gone downhill in the hands of the current people. Crap service, short measure, national brands on the pumps.......... Won't be back for a while.

A very nice little pub in the middle of the village. I go in here quite regularly and there's always a good choice of ales - it's always good to find a place that stocks Potton beers frequently. The only detractor is that it's a tad pricey but, with this being a commuter village, that's par for the course.

Along with the previous poster I am quite surprised at the low rating of this pub as I found it a very pleasant welcoming village local in the old style. A bar and lounge, four ales on ( I tried the White Horse Bitter and the Beijing Pig stuff - both were spot on), friendly locals and convivial bar staff. But for First Capital Connect's Sh*te train service would almost want to make me move out and commute.

Nice looking pub from the front, but the interior seems to have been slightly over-refurbished at some stage. However, there is a very nice open fire in the front bar, with blazing logs making up for the slightly cold feel of the furniture and interior decor. (I didn't have time to look at the larger space round the side and back of the bar, presumably the main eating area.) Four real ales on - a couple of the usual suspects, plus two from local small breweries. Went in at a quiet time, but I thought that it was rather better than the current rating of 4.8 would suggest.
