| Umm, I'm slightly confused by the comments so far. When ever I visit the place (when waiting for the train) I never feel welcome. It is VERY locally, there is generally only one member of staff working both bars, the toilets are a disgrace and it's £3.05 for a pint of Fosters. | Just spent two nights at the Forest Heath Hotel and can't praise it highly enough. Fantastic staff, great food and more importantly excellent beer, shame the Brains SA didn't last until the second night though !! We were well looked after by Mike and Maureen and were made to feel welcome from the moment we entered the bar. The accommodation was great and would definitely recommend it for a drink, meal or a lengthier stay. ColinP - 6 Mar 2007 12:02 |
| My wife and I visited this pub for lunchtime refreshments whilst passing through today and was pleasantly surprised. The pub was warm and welcoming and we felt we were wanted. Some pubs glare at strangers as they walk in but this was not the case here. The Landlord and his wife (Mick and Maureen) were friendly and seemed genuinly pleased to have us in their establishment.No complaints, will definanatly return for some cold guiness soon and will take some friends with us for a good night out. | Tucked away in the sleepy New forest village of Sway, is "The Forest Heath Hotel". A little oasis of fantastic service, food and beer, good value, friendly atmosphere, coupled together with traditional high standards. Above all a wonderful nights sleep, and great accommodation is what you can expect. The new management must have changed the mattress, as I had no complaints regarding my bed!. | Cheerful, happy landlord,good beer,well run clean bar,great coffee (rare!) and hot toast that actually came with the good breakfast...BUT THINK TWICE BEFORE STAYING HERE. Although the new owners have made great efforts, the gorgeous new crisp white duvets cover shockingly old uncomfortable mattresses,YUCK ! so old the springs are barely covered,the worst we have EVER come across We had find somewhere else after one night...what a shame. berkhamp2005 - 18 Oct 2005 13:28 |
