| I never frequented the star before its refurbishment, but it certainly looks much nicer now. For me the decor is a bit too sterile for a pub, but it might get a bit better with age. | Recent refub is tasteful, with some fascinating pictures of old Rochdale. Bizarre that one of the two Gents toilets only has one stand up urinal in it . New licencees have settled in and are welcoming. As with all Sam Smiths pubs, the prices are the best going - �1.55 for a pint of hand pumped Old Brewery Bitter, which has been well kept on the recent occasions I've been in.
