New Management team all very friendly.

Noticed that the pub is now open all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

My only problem (and it's the same in all Shoreham pubs) is the limited choice of Ales and Ciders.

Not much change on the decor front, The small snug bar is a bit cleaner and brighter.

I was fortunate enough to visit the Crown this weekend and find that it was the first full day under new management.
Upon walking in you could feel that it had been given some TLC with a small but tasteful redecoration and had a real family atmosphere.
I had a wonderful pint of Harvey's in the public bar which had a real "Lad's feel" with dartboard and a strong alliance to the great Seve Ballesteros with a wonderful picture of him above the bar.
After walking 3 miles with my wife we decided that the smell of the Sunday roast was too good to resist so we had to indulge and thank god we did. There are too many chain pubs these days where the emphasis is to churn out an average plate of food, but here at The Crown you could tell that real effort had been put into it. Home made Yorkshire puddings, tender Pork and wonderfully fluffy roast potatoes, it was one of the nicest meals I ever endured in a pub.
I would not hesitate to come back to this pub again, and I'm already looking forward to this Sunday.

Stopped off at end of walk and was pleased to find pub open late in afternoon during week, and the Harveys was excellent.
Went back in evening on Friday for fish night (to avoid eternal damnation - according to landlord !) and can thoroughly recommend the food.

Visit this pub on a fairly regular basis now.Always made welcome by both the staff and regulars. The beer is always in excellent condition which for me is top requirement but also the food is reasonably priced and very good.
Well worh a visit.

I've visited this pub a couple of times with my wife whilst on one of our regular-ish wanders around Shoreham, and I've found it to be curiously alluring. I say curiously, because both times we've been it's been extremely quiet inside with only a handful of punters chatting quietly amongst themselves (probably due to the mid-week evening lull), which can be quite disconcerting to the casual out-of-towner, but for some reason I've always felt at ease and comfy here.

Both visits have bestowed me with excellent ale, from memory I think I had Westerham's William Wilberforce Freedom Ale on the first visit and a Westerham's SPA on my second, both spot on pints. The bar is inexpensive and the staff friendly. I haven't yet eaten here but when I do I shall comment further. Up to this point though, good stuff.
