| Quiet compared to other nearby pubs. Pleasant nevertheless. I tried one of their own brews, Bull's Hit, and a very nice pale ale it was. | Very nice old pub clearly aimed at tourists. Their own beers are pretty good - tried Irristibull & Taurus and both were very nice. Didn't try the food but it looked good and lots of people were eating. baxterfish - 13 Jun 2017 16:14 |
| Visited in April with the family whilst on a pre-holiday shopping trip. I had the Black Bull (a porter) followed by Tangibull (pale ale) and both were great. Would recommend both the pub and its own Pied Bull ales. RealAleRobUK - 5 May 2017 16:06 |
| I keep meaning to post about this place, but then forgetting what I wanted to say about it ! Well for a start, it is genuinely old, with low wooden beams abounding. Having said that though, after the entrance has been negotiated, it is fairly open plan inside. The bar is on the right, and has around 6 beers on handpump. Three or four of them are their own brews, and the others are varied guests. I usually drink their own beers, and on my last two visits have had Taurus (a stout – very nice) and Red Bull (quite nice also). Food is available (at a separate counter), but I’ve never eaten here. Posters on the wall advertise a Burger Monday and a Sunday Roast, so I may try in future. For those who need their megasport fix, there is an unobsrusive TV, which may be on for big events. There can also be background music – on one occasion it was all by Pink Floyd – you have been warned ! It can get busy, but I usually manage to find a seat. There is also a new beer garden / smokers corner out the back, which I’ve heard good reports of, but never actually visited. 7/10 – one of my favourite pubs in the city, but marked down due to the Pink Floyd connection ! | Called in the other week while waiting for the nearby Goat and Munch to open. Had a pint of Adnams Broadside which was in very good nick. The Pied Bulls' owners have recently created a pleasant outdoor/smoking area at the rear of the pub. founddrunkinyourgarden - 15 Aug 2016 16:08 |
