Much changed and refurbished since my last unsatisfactory visit some years ago. Large car park at rear with steps and a ramp to the entrance, seems to be bigger than I remember and there are a number of smaller and cosy bars off the main U shaped bar. Three real ales on the handles, service was friendly and efficient and our soup plentiful and tasty. Many pictures, horse brasses and knick knacks on the walls which gave a good atmosphere. Many diners which were greeted by the bar staff on arrival, on leaving we were asked if we would be seen again, so definitely a place for return visits

Went in here on our way home from holiday. Barman was friendly enough when he served us, but the one thing I noted since my last visit is that EVERY table in the place is laid out for food service. Where are you meant to sit if you just want a drink. The bar was already crowded, and I didn't particularly want to get in peoples way while they waited to be served. When we did find a table to sit down, it might have been my imagination, but the owner kept coming round dusting tables nearby, and giving us cursery looks because we were not eating. In my view they should say it's a restaurant now and not a pub to save people the confusion. Plus the hobknobs sat near us were debating the merits of their latest yacht, and how they survived the rigours of the Fastnet Race. All the while guffawing over their port and lemons! Not impressed!

If you want to eat here on a Sunday evening forget it! They don't serve food after 6pm.

Absolutely terrible customer service with very miserable staff. I went there with friends and our children for lunch believing it to be a family friendly pub only to be greeted with a frosty and rude landlady and bar staff who made us to feel very unwelcome. Manners cost nothing and because of the nasty atmosphere in this pub we shall never frequent it again and will tell all friends and family to avoid.

We went on a Saturday night in August and had pre-booked a table which was essential as they were turning customers away. It was full of holiday makers and with their children. The food was ok and the staff work very hard. We will return 'out of season'.
