Nice little country pub, well off the beaten track. I was the only customer early on my Thursday evening visit. This is a pub that is much more popular in the summer, especially with walkers and cyclists. The landlady and her dog were very friendy and talkative (well the landlady at least)! 2 ales were on - Plain Ales Innocence & Sixpenny Alvediston Ale. Wessex Medium Cider was also on handpull. Worth seeking out.

Came in for a meal with my other half a couple of weeks ago, very enjoyable local real ale, not a large however good selection of wines to go with the food, the food was thernominal, considering the age of the chef in his early 20's, i had a steak full of flavour and cooked to perfection, my wife having the goats cheese tart which looked incredible, I would definitely would recommend anyone to try and come back to this pub, definitely worth the drive.

I had an excellent pint of Ringwood Best but didn't try the Alvediston Ale produced by the Sixpenny Brewery for this pub. There were another couple of ales on the handles, but didn't remember them. Friendly and efficient service, I believe I could hear the steak I had ordered being beaten into submission in the kitchen, it was the best steak I've had this year! The low beam across the ceiling needs to be avoided, it's just the right height to catch out the unwary. A great pub, worth visiting again.

Went back to visit and can't believe it just gets better all of the time, Landlord quote is that it will take 2 years to get pub up and running as he would like it, well I can only imagine what it will be like then, you must visit this gem, in the most pretty valley in the south, walks galore

Having driven for over three hours we were greeted warmly by Dave, Linda and Alex who made us feel totally at home and relaxed. Following a smashing evening meal, we were treated to a barrage of rib splitting jokes from Dave and some splendid local history from Linda, all washed down with fine ale and cider. As if it couldnt get any better, following a good nights sleep in one of the quaint rooms we were presented with a beautifully cooked hearty full-English breakfast, which included excellent quality local sausages and bacon. Will we be going back again.you bet.
