This is a hidden gem in Greenwich. Slightly scruffy, great bar staff and a really interesting mix of customers. Live music as well. Could do with a wider range of real ales. I will go there again.

I thought I should give this place another try as others seem to like it, and so I did last Sunday. Jazz band were playing from 4pm onwards ( I think this is a regular feature every last Sunday of the month. Since I last went the place has had a lick of paint (a quite tasteful dark red), they still have Courage Best and Directors (not a bad pint I thought) and there was a free cheese board (very good) The barmaid was friendly although the guy serving looked a bit scary- it reminded me of the days I used to drink in East End pubs ! Much improved and I will be going back.

Single room corner location back street local. Two casks - Directors and Best. Directors was slightly warm and a bit flabby. Pub has jazz evenings. Laid back atmosphere mixed with hard drinkers. Building work going on during my visit so place was dusty and shambolic.

Good feel to the place. Even though not much of an atmosphere during my visit, there was a sense of the potential of the place, and I can imagine it gets a good vibe at times.

Went there once, nearly ended up in a fight with a drunk at the bar who was clearly a regular, he did have the good grace to apologise as we left . We have never been tempted to return. It could be so good but looks very run down. Try the Ashburnham Arms 5 minutes walk away.

Don't know what the other reviewers are on about .....

This is a higgledy-piggeldy pub, a classic pub with a great landlord and a great vibe. If you just fancy a pint on your own whilst you mull over a crossword, or if you want to prop up the bar and put the world to rights with the friendly locals, then this is for you.

This is probably the only decent "proper boozer" left in Greenwich, yes it might be a little rough around the edges, but that's what I look for in a pub.

Pop in, sit by the open fire, have a pint, have a chat, listen to the sixties soul. This is a real hidden gem in London's rich crown.
