Very nice - went yesterday for first time. Reminds me of a brighter version of Waxy O Connors in Chinatown - different levels - MASSIVE beer list - nice and clean - interesting decor. Will be going back. adamwalsh - 16 Aug 2010 07:24
Had a good time in here weekend before last. Reasonable food an eclectic beer offer but the Thwaites Bomber was excellent My lad eventaully found a lager that he liked from their choice. All round decent boozer next to the over-priced chains that cluster around CGarden. downsview - 4 May 2010 15:31
Finally got round to visiting this place for the first time last week. The pub is on three levels - basement, ground floor and mezzanine - with bars on each level. The interior has a similar feel and appearance to it's sister pub in Dubin. As in Dublin the Porterhouse beers are on keg and the ones I recall being available were Templebrau, Wrasslers Stout, Oyster Stout, Plain Porter, Porterhouse Red and Brainblasta. There was a guest ale on pump but I can't remember what it was. I had a pint of the Plain Porter, which was a very drinkable stout. As they did not have the Hop Head which I had enjoyed in Dublin I followed this with a pint of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. The beers are expensive, around £3.75 for the Plain and £4.50 for the Sierra Nevada. I might pop in again if drinking in the area. holbornboy - 31 Mar 2010 23:32
Visited for the first time on saturday, its got an intresting interior, i quite liked it, particularly upstairs. However i didnt enjoy the beer. The oyster stout was far to cold and had next to no flavour. I'm not likely to revist in the near future although i'm glad i had a look this time round. Picasso09 - 29 Mar 2010 00:37
Ok, I am writing another review on this place as my previous one has generated the odd negative comment (and I accept it may not have been as balanced as it could have been). I will always think that that chiller stuff is nasty - I enjoy lots of beers, but this tastes more like shandy. On the upside, this place still seems to stock a lot of bottles, including some that are really hard to find elsewhere (especially Sam Adams, can't find it anywhere else in the West End). The place is often very packed, but always has a good atmosphere. The bar staff are also polite. lennie384 - 1 Mar 2010 01:37
