user reviews of the George and Dragon, Stoke Golding

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I was passing through the area and got to sample a couple of beers from their awesome selection of beers. I think most were from the Church End brewery but all were good. A welcome break from the terrible indentikit pubs that seem to reign supreme.

I visited the George & Dragon today to see how they are progressing a month after it was re-opened by its new owners, Church End Brewery. The pub has been totally refurbished by its new owners who have succeeded in creating a traditional yet contemporary feel with two separate bars, both having their own points of interest.
The beer is superb, with a choice of around 8 real ales from Church End, a "hand crafted" lager and a good choice of Belgian bottled beers, plus the usual wines and spirits. They are serving light meals at lunchtime using fresh locally sourced ingredients accompanied by their own home baked bread which was excellent.
Outside is a car park, a "patio" immediately outside the back door, and a beer garden beyond the car park. Although not really local to me I shall certainly be a frequent visitor. The staff are great too !!!! Highly recommended
