£7.00 FOR A PINT AND A HALF!

I was expecting Newquay to be a little cheaper especially in mid November in on a weekday but what did I really expect from the evils of anSt. Austell brewery owned pub.

To be fair to them this place has been done up swanky from the Central pub of old and I guess Newquay is trying to clean up it's act as the stag weekend capital of Europe.

Just not for me.

The current layout of the pub with a mezzanine bar and all open plan bears no relation to the Central of old and is what it is......a large pub modernised to an inch of its life catering for a young crowd in a seaside town well known for stag and hen weekends. Beer was expensive...what do you expect...but in good condition.

It does what it does well.

Was it really £6 for a pint of korev and half a rattler. Nasty clientelle. Avoid.

I always like The Central... Yes it has a modern feel inside, but the St.Austell ales are well kept and there are plenty of tables out on the front to enjoy the summer.
Nice place for a coffee to in a morning...
