Checked out a few times this year and is back on form, good beer and good food. Back to being a great little place!

I have to say, I didn't think I would be posting this comment following on from my review a few years ago. However, having had many a lovely Sunday lunches in this pub, I went there recently and I was shocked. The food was very ropey and when I questioned the Landlord on my pint being off, he said it was fine, even though it was clearly off! I have also heard that this pub has gone a bit downhill from other regulars. It's a shame as I once regarded it as one of the best pubs in the area, but may be the success has gone to their heads and the standards have gone to pot. Not good! I give it a two, pub itself having a cosy ambience, everything else is one!

Re visited. Cosy pub sitting by open fire. Had a meal, good choice of plain food at a reasonable price. No loud music belting out, and clientele mainly over 50's
which is fine by me. No game machines so uou can hear yourself think and chat to your mates.

Somewhat rare, perhaps, as something approaching a genuine 'pub' in this area, but it can't be denied that some of the reported shortcomings haven't been removed.

We went to this pub last Wednesday the barmaid was very rude it said on the door that it was dog friendly but I went through the bar to the other side and she waited until we sat down to say dog's aren't allowed there and said well it does there which considering I am not that tall and the sign was a right above your head and not visible at eye level unless you were 7 ft tall but it did have a lot of signs saying children weren't allowed in the bar lo and behold there was a child sitting by the bar so the beer was rubbish and food was barely edible it was all microwaved food would never go to this rubbish pub ever again much better pubs in the area
