Somewhat rare, perhaps, as something approaching a genuine 'pub' in this area, but it can't be denied that some of the reported shortcomings haven't been removed. pub_aficianado - 18 Dec 2010 17:00
We went to this pub last Wednesday the barmaid was very rude it said on the door that it was dog friendly but I went through the bar to the other side and she waited until we sat down to say dog's aren't allowed there and said well it does there which considering I am not that tall and the sign was a right above your head and not visible at eye level unless you were 7 ft tall but it did have a lot of signs saying children weren't allowed in the bar lo and behold there was a child sitting by the bar so the beer was rubbish and food was barely edible it was all microwaved food would never go to this rubbish pub ever again much better pubs in the area simon2806 - 27 Feb 2010 13:16
Went there for a sunday lunch recently as i have never been to this pub and was told how great it was. First up a pint of Doom which was freezing cold and tasteless. As for the food (which surely has to be the place's bread & butter as you can't walk to it) the potatoes we had were frozen Aunt Bessie's and the veg was from a packet. Had some whitebait to start and the fat was not clean hence i could taste the other chips etc used with the same oil. Not a patch on the Robin Hood.. petercook - 1 Feb 2010 15:20
A really cosy pub with nice old fashioned pub food and very good beer. Very friendly staff and dog friendly too. Downside is that it's a bit isolated for the casual visitor. bumpby - 4 Nov 2009 14:08
