A pleasant pub with excellent accomodation and a warm welcome. Real ale (Hobsons) was not quite as bright as I would have liked, but I had three pints so it can't have been that bad! Bar food was good. Shouty old blokes still there but not annoying and a good way to catch up on local gossip. Nice surprise in the morning: the landlady had noticed that we had only been given one bath towel and knocked £10 off the bill.

Popped in for a drink a few times here and always enjoyed it. I like the bar and how it is decorated. Never packed or busy. Noticed the restaurant had been going down in numbers for a while, but my last visit was a few months back. I'd love it for a local.

The owner takes a basil faulty approach to customer service which 90% of customers find very rude, however, the inn stays afloat through good letting rooms, though many guests chose to drink and eat at the Angel down the road. Popular with larger parties, weddings etc. And the cheap steak night still popular. Sadly , we have stopped using the pub after too many instances of rudeness and wrong bills- check your change!

Recently stayed here having read the comments beforehand. Don't know what to make of the that of Chris P Bacon on 02/01/2009 - can only think he/she went to the wrong pub. I always find it instructive on BITE to look at users comments on other pubs, get an idea of what they like etc. I note that CP Bacon has none - nor do any of the other posters. Perhaps CP Bacon is a commercial rival? Certainly reads like a friend of the other pub in the vilage! Anyhow, do not be put off by an isolated negative review, this is an excellent pub/restaurant. It is along the lines of many village pubs in these days in that food is as important as drink in keeping the pub afloat. That said, the beer is excellent, all the usual keg suspects and two draught ales (Bass and Hobson's bitter when I was there)which were superby kept and presented. The food was first rate as was the accommodation ( about 10 rooms I think) which was also reasonably priced.
I have posted many reviews, read them if you have nothing better to do, but haven't posted for a while - lost my password to tell the truth - but I had to post this if only to counterbalance the tosh that was posted in January 2009. I know that we are not supposed to take reviews too seriously but that was a hatchet job which is not at all deserved. For what it is, a pub/restaurant in a rural village offering decent standard accommodation the Corners deserves 8/10.

Went here recently for my Wedding Anniversary. The food was delicious and the welcome was fantastic.

A really enjoyable night - highly reccommended and will be visiting again.
