Advertises "Local cask ales always available" but on my visit at end of June they only had the ubiquitous (and non-local) Deuchars, in average condition. Definitely food-oriented, lots of families with kids etc. The fact that this is in the GBG is a sad reflection on the general standard of beer (and pubs) in this part of Scotland. newbury_drinker - 29 Aug 2011 11:45
Struck me as very much a food pub but we were on our way to the Indian along the road. Had a pint of Oban Bay stout that I didn't enjoy very much. The place was a bit gloomy and the staff were efficient but not particularly friendly. There are worse places in Oban and unfortunately few better. gdm - 14 Jul 2010 18:35
This fairly modern establishment has a large central bar serving good quality Deuchars IPA along with a local Oban Bay stout also on handpump. As mentioned elsewhere the beer is quite expensive at £3.20 a pint but at least it's a pub in Oban serving real ale. There's a reasonable range of food available at a reasonable price. tabbycat33 - 26 Apr 2010 23:15
Waaaay to pricey. A very average pint of Deuchars for £3.00 and £1.55 for a half of lime & soda. Certainly not the only pub in Oban that overcharges, but its a drab place to go with it. Molegrub - 19 Aug 2009 08:37
Late comment from August visit. £6.20 for 4 halves of Deuchers made me go to the bar to query price for this 3.8% beer. I was told £2.90 a pint and £1.55 a half. That is one big mark up for half pint drinkers!!! Also had a Fyne beer. Nothing wrong with quality but a rip off on pricing. gillhalfpint - 15 Jan 2009 10:15
