A rough and ready town pub that has pool table, live bands, quizzes etc. Brews were more mainstreamish and not memorable - to the point that I forgot what I had there. Snarling_Mallard - 30 Sep 2011 10:53
spit and sawdust pub with sticky tables and a few ales...always feel as if we've disturbed the local crowd in there burns20 - 31 May 2011 19:38
Still £1.80 - beer improving after rocky period. Bob Rock on a Friday plays good tunes. kernott1 - 7 Oct 2010 19:57
Unremarkable in appearance and character consisting mainly of one narrow long room with a smaller seating area off to the side. Beers hit and miss, the best being a quaffable ale from Rudgate called King Knut , the others either insipid or poorly kept. Whilst i was there a group of under age drinkers were being told off by the barmaid for various infringements, not something i like too see in a pub, they shouldn't have been there in the first place. On the plus side all the ales were priced at £1.80! nokegthanks - 7 Jul 2010 14:28
Recently lost their cellarman - quality has dipped - need to sort it out! kernott1 - 13 Jun 2010 21:21
