A quick pint in this ‘spoons while waiting for a flight one Sunday afternoon.

I have only used this place once before, then it was fine and the same again this time.

5 ales on, I had a pint of Greene King’s George & the Flagon @ 4.5%. Not as cheap as your regular ‘spoons but cheaper than other bars at Heathrow.

Food was popular and they had the television on showing a re-run of the day’s London marathon.

For an airside bar this is absolutely fine- real ales on tap, pretty quick service even if busy and the usual microwaved fare- this is far preferable to all the naff TV-inspired populist claptrap from Jamie et al that costs a fortune in other parts of the airport...I mean..a 'cover charge'...???? What the hell??? So a good score for this bar for the pre-flight thirst- the master of ale awards a 7- even for only taking money away from the celebs....

Watched England scrape by Argentina here with a very good pint of London Pride. Reasonable place to while away the minutes before your flight.

It's nice to be able to get a decent beer on the airside of an airport. The house beer, called 'The Crown Rivers', is quite pleasant (brewed for Wetherspoon by Loddon) and is not bad value at 2.59 a pint.

No atmosphere of course, but for an airside bar, a good range of excellent beers (though inflated by a Wetherspoon's festival). When some UK airport bars appear to be giving up on real ale altogether, it is good to see at least one that offers something worth drinking as one waits for yet another delayed flight. The food on offer is standard Wetherspoon and with prices not so inflated as most airside bars/restaurants
