My wife and I popped in for a drink before dinner at the Kew Grill next door. First time at the Coach and Horses for over 40 years and nothing much had changed inside!!! They got my wife's drink order wrong and both ales I wanted were unavailable for 20 minutes.
Not impressed.

Rather dull Young's pub, and not as traditional inside as one might expect when looking at it across Kew Green. Reasonable beer, but certainly not cheap...

Been here on a few occassions and I have to say, yes it is not the most exciting pub in the world but with good seating front and back, vastly improved staff and most importantly good ale, it is not the horror show Algis mentions, or perhaps he doesn't like any pub!

For those on a budget, don't buy lager as it's too expensive where as Ale £2.70 a pint of Ordinary is just about ok although the brewary seem to think a 5p per pint budget rise means they can then add on an additional 10p on top of this...then they'll moan pub going is on the decrease.

The hotel is clean and and a bit like a holiday inn plus with an atrium and function roon you can be well away from the bar.

From my observation, the locals seem a good bunch and aforementioned guy with the collie now seems to have taken his non-sensicle self to the Greyhound - which is crap by the way!

Anyway, for a pub it's nice enough and with no 'orrible yoots swearing and causing grief it's also fairly relaxed.

I had to wait at the bar whilst the lone barmaid served food from the dumb waiter to diners at their tables. After paying £3.40 (gasp) for a pint of Fosters I absconded to the very nice seating outside the front of the pub facing the green.

The usual lagers were on offer as were Youngs Ordinary & Special, Bombardier and Deuchars IPA.

One of the few pubs in Kew that has a late licence at weekends
