Nice welcoming pub but, as with so many pubs in this area, the beers were limited to John Smiths and Theakstons. Come on guys - there are thousands of beers out there - can't we have a little more choice?

What a lovely pub this is. We stayed here for three nights doing some walking on the dales. The beer's good, the food's good, the room was good and the staff were lovely.
Cherry on the top was the traditional rock n' roll band (with actual double bass) on Saturday night; they sent us off to bed happy

Another visit but this time we stayed overnight. Absolutely fabulous. The room is like a flat and beautifully done out. The service, the breakfast, the atmosphere, the food, the drink, the owners, the barstaff, the conservatory, the beer garden, everything is top class. Can't wait to go back.

Went for a glorious walk along the Cleveland Way from Ravenscar to Robin Hood's Bay on a quiet January Monday. We were in good time for the bus and the Victorias was shut in RHB so we walked a bit further. We were so glad we did.

A lovely tidy and welcoming pub. All the rooms had lovely furnishings and were immaculate. We sat in the conservatory and overlooked the lovely garden.

The Theakston's was absolutely spot on, having been poured with care and attention. To add to our fun there was a late 50s/early 60s backing tape on at just the right volume which was a good conversation piece for the pair of us.

In a way I wish we could have stayed longer, but I know we will return one day. It rounded off a wonderful afternoon out for us.

Under new management now. We popped in for an afternoon drink and were pleasantly suprised. There's a lot going on for locals and tourists during the week but my main reason for returning would be the superb guinness and the rotating hexagonal pool table! Really good fun trying to work out the angles. Nice pub.
