| Brilliant little pub down a terraced street made by knocking together 2 houses. It always has a good selection of superbly kept ales and whiskies that can be enjoyed in one of the 3 or 4 rooms in the pub or the beer garden (out the back door and across the street). Looking like it hasn't been decorated since 1945, the pub itself has all the characteristics and charm that a decent pub should have, and long may it stay that way! One of the two best pubs in Halifax. 5 mins in a taxi from the train or bus station - if you find yourself in town it's worth popping in for a couple. Mambass - 16 Mar 2010 20:56 |
| Superb little back street local made by knocking together several back to back cottages. Approaching from King Cross towrds the old Infirmary if you look to the left you can see the faint outline of a big '6' on the gable end of the terrace. Owned by Punch but on a 'free of tie' lease so a good selection of real ales in good condition. A classic little time capsule - worth seeking out. Beermonitor - 8 Aug 2008 08:50 |
