Me and my partner called in on the off chance today while passing through, we was welcomed with a friendly face behind the bar which I think was the landlord.. It was a clean and warm environment with log fire burning away.. We decided to have a meal from the special board which was great value for money and was lovely.. They also do a selection of hand pull beers .. Our visit today was lovely and we will most certainly call in again.. Thank you

A NOTE From The Landlord:
Larks vomit mash, honestly, that's so last week.
We have a great 'Pub Menu' which is then complimented by our specials selection and a range of traditional ales.
Our winter opening times are from 12 until 2.30 Monday to Thursday and then we open at 5pm. Open all day from 12 FRIDAY-SATURDAY&SUNDAY. In March until September we open all day everyday.
We also operate a Village Store which opens from 7am and then is open during our pub opening times.
If you're passing and fancy a pint or a coffee, pop-in and check us out.

Keep smiling

At last. A genuine review. This pub will certainly be added to my list of must-visit hostleries!.

I visited this gem of a town centre pub last week and was blown away by the quality of the beer , food and service levels. The voluptuous duck breast with larks vomit mash I sampled was absolutely superb and the Chefs Cumberland sausage was very satisfying for my wife.
Four well kept ales available and my pint of Old Scrotum's Scratchings was the best I have experienced this side of Doncaster.
And the service offered by the landlady could not be faulted and the special service provided in the Gents toilet came as a pleasant surprise.
Hows that Tuna ?
