Saturday lunchtime, 3 of us called in for a light lunch after a cycle ride. Excellent food, nice place.

Had a long lunch for four. The food was excellent, great value for money, several notches above standard pub food and everything seemed to be home made by a chef who really enjoys their work. Great service, good local beer and nice wines.

If you want to see an example of a pub that can turn around then this is it. The new owners have changed the feel of the pub by introducing comfy seating with a twist of retro.A must to see !

The menu is simple but how an English pub should be, there is blend of drinkers laughing at the bar and eaters waying up there many choices. We were torn between fresh Brixham plaice or Colins faggots (Colin apparently is the butcher next door) .

The most refreshing thing we found was the staff were friendly with a feeling that they actually wanted to be there.

If only we lived closer we could have tried there take away menu.

A real treat.... thank you to all at The Shakespeare Inn

Empty most of the time. The landlord and landlady cant get you out quick enough. They will happily put chairs on tables and clean up around you at 10:30. No atmosphere and unfriendly. Dont bother. The Four Alls is a better bet.
