Had there Christmas dinner for 12 people. They made errors in order and stubbornly were claiming that I emailed booking with this error (just checked all my correspondence and no, I got it right, they got it wrong, they served wrong food).
When it came to pudding (all ordered 2 weeks earlier) they said that they didn't have what we ordered. Talking about late notice, huh?
Ok, as a compensation they didn't charge us for a pudding, just for starters and mains.
I canceled one of the meals 2 days earlier, and although as it was late cancellation they should have charged me a deposit, they charged full rate. That is because they still served the food - I mean they put extra full plate next to empty chair! Weird.
Food was awful - all overcooked, totally cold, potatoes and yorkshire so hard couldn't bite it. Trout bitter and dry. Veg old, cold and kept in the oven until rock hard and black.
A pint of Hoegaarden cost me nearly £5.
Service - non existing.
We will not be back. That's for sure.

I came here on Friday night and had an excellent time. Great atmosphere, attentive staff and good wine selection. Ideal meeting place before heading to the Red Rooms.

I hate this place. It's got no soul and it's quietness on Friday and Saturday evenings illustrate this. The choice of beers are poor and it's over priced. This place needs a shake up and quick, or it will surely become another pub closure statistic for 2009.
