You couldn't really call this a pub, more of a restaurant and with bar area. The bar area is cosy in winter, and they have a good selection of wines on offer. Food tends to be nice, but specials tend to be repeated quite a bit. Deserts are amazing!

Called in for breakfast.
I don't know what it was like as they couldn't be bothered to cook it.
I walked out 30 mins after ordering.

Took my father in law in, a retired french chef turned chef teacher to the mightiest french cullinary giants ever, and I was embarrassed to my toenails. First of all I didn't know it'd been refurbished. It looks nice but the minute I saw the clientelle ie the 'beautiful' people I felt sick to my stomach. All style and no substance...and that perfectly describes the food.
How could I have taken a french chef into this place!! I still feel ill from the humiliation. Even after going for the simple option of pizza..it was served cold!!

This place used to be fantastic. I wanted to show off the great beef and ale pie they used to do.

It's hideous, absolutely hideous. My father in law offered to teach the 'chefs' there for free....

If you want to go to an expensive Italian Restaurant then this might be on your list.
If you want a pub, look elsewhere (eg just up Red Lion Lane.

I think that this is a terrible place.

The Red Lion has been taken over by Oakman Inns, and completely refurbished. Feels all very nice and airy, and is very comfortable. However, it is now basically an Italian Restaurant, NOT a pub.
The service is very efficient, and the food is very good. Cooked fresh but a tad on pricey side.
They do sell real beer as well. When we went the Marstons was a bit yeasty and the Adnams was good, if a little too cold, but it soon reached a better temperature.
