user reviews of the Bell, Tring

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The BBC News website featured a video from the Bell a few days ago. However, it wasn't the sort of promotional video that most pubs welcome. Instead it was a security camera video of a mass brawl inside the pub.

A long tour of tring to find somewhere to eat. Ended up in an indian where I was the only punter. Came in here for a drink after. At least there were people here. Large pub geared for football and pool.

After reading a few disputable comments by people that listen to too much old gossip I thought I would like to say something.
I have been a regular down The Bell for quite a few years now and seen it change a lot over the years with different customers and numerous managers/owners.
It has had amazingly great times like live football games, disco/karaoke nights, live bands, darts nights, pool nights, charity events (The last one was a 24hr darts marathon which I took part in to help raise 4500) and many more!
Yes the pub has seen a few bad times in the past but can anyone tell me what pub hasn't?
A lot has stepped up since the new owners took over last year, there are now door staff on every friday night aswell as for any large events, who I.D everyone at the doors, and staff also I.D AGAIN when they come to the bar. More events are organised aimed at the old and the new customers, its clean AND the beers are now drinkable!!
So please those who judge should listen to the old proverb - never judge a book by its cover. If your going to keep listening to gossip, still continue to drag the hard work that the owners and staff are putting into clearing this horrible reputation, then at least actually go in there and try it for yourself.

hello to all.. i have read the review posted on the 21 april 2010 about the bell in tring high street, and say that it is a very unfair statement....to say that under age drinkers are in the bell is completely wrong because a strict i.d policy is in affect...."scum" do not gravitate to the bell at all....unfortunately in any venue that serves alcohol at some point there will be incidents on the odd occasion which cant be helped but it is unfair to judge a pub on icolated events and reputations of the past....the pub was re-decorated in January 2010 and since the new landlords have taken over the pub has gone from strength to strenght from holding charity events where 4500 was raised for charity to inviting world champion darts player, great bands and sucessfull ladies nights, not forgeting showing all live footie games and pay per view boxing..........i find it very disappionting that all trouble that escalates onto the high street get blamed on the bell when they have a well known and strong door security team in place............all of my experiances have been fantastic from friday night karaoke to fancy dress parties

For the sake of the people of Tring, I hope the police and the council are succesful in closing down this squalid, empty head invested pit, and turn it into a take away.
