| Popped in late on a Thursday evening during an overnight in Stafford. This is a real pub - no doubt about it; the style and layout of the place and a good range of beers on. I had a couple of pints of good condition Kelham Island Easy rider. Overall 7.5/10. Old_King_Cole - 25 Jul 2011 20:35 |
| I think this is an older building with a new interior but it looked good to me with eight or so ales on. I tried Farmer's Blonde by Bradfield(??) which was very good. I then had a pint of Wadworth's Bishop's Tipple at 5.0% which was also very good. Sports showing and I heard the locals expecting a very busy night with a quiz night crossing with an England match. I would go back. Killian42 - 18 Sep 2010 00:24 |
| Went in to have a pint before going for a curry. Excellent range of beers kept well. The Kelham Island easy Rider very good. My daughter and boyfriend will be living nearby so hope to visit again soon. addlened - 9 Aug 2010 10:35 |
| I don't see what the fuss is about this place. In view of reviews elsewhere (e.g. GBG) I was expecting something special. It just seemed like a standard Camrahouse to me - and not a particularly welcoming one. Had several beers I'd never heard of, and no indication of what sort of beer they would be. | Another good ale house - you have the Spittal Brook to the South of town and the Greyhound to the North of it - though not quite so far to walk to here. Snarling_Mallard - 4 Oct 2009 10:59 |
