Having been a local resident and regular at this lovely village pub for over 10 years i feel its absolutly disgusting that the brewery have allowed it to be be turned into an indian restaraunt its totally inappropriate in a wonderful village location the atmosphere is horrendous the prices are expensive and the operators seem to have their own agenda and seem totally oblivios to what local people want from their community pub if you want a lovely country pub avoid at all costs unlike other local pubs (the three horseshoes and the roundbush ) where you get great hospitaliy and that great country pub feel!!!!!

Hello Customers,

The Three Compasses is now under a fresh and new management and we would love to have you try our two new menus along with wide variety of wines and beers.

We have taken over the pub from 1st June.

See you soon.

Popped in for a late lunch today and found that things are winding down, because apparently the place is closing in two weeks' time and then reopening under new owners.
Meant obviously that not everything was on and there was a limited menu. Only one ale (Bombadier) but stuck to the softs as I was driving.
Surprisingly no lemondade - even if they are closing, you'd think they may have staples like that.
Anyway, staff were very friendly and obviously a locals' pub as quite a few people were welcomed by name.
Food was basic pub grub but decent and the portions were very good, so no complaints there at all. No desserts seemingly available, though.
Anyway, enjoyable visit and will be intrigued to see what the new owners make of it, because its a decent sized and located boozer with loads of potential.

boo this is a one of the chavvest pubs around.full of single mums and screaming brats,, and the kind of blokes who find them attractive for a one night stand.
its a dangerous place to be at night...
dont know where they get the locals from though, as aldenham and patchetts are nice places!!

Part of the Druid Pub chain. Almost seems like an extension of the equestrian centre over the road as the clientele are mostly from the horsy set. A large part of the pub is given over to diners and there is not a great deal of room to sit and have a beer. Adnams and Bombardier were on, in decent condition and priced at 3.00. There are a few rugby shirts and photos on the walls but the photos of the Aussies holding aloft the World Cup seemed a bit unnecessary. Far too many kids for my liking although there was a four generation birthday party going on so I suppose it was to be expected. Quite bizarrely there is a childrens play area positioned right outside the toilets.
