Excellent little local pub in a primarily residential area sandwiched between Walworth Road and Kennington Park Road. Cosy both inside and out in the small beer garden. Let down slightly by the uninspiring lager selection but when I last went in Guinness, Leffe, Pride and Bombardier all available. Most of the other pubs in this area are pretty poor so worth going slightly out of your way for this place.

seems to have changed hands. not nearly as friendly. menu looks tacky and fussy at the same time. the landlord was off hand when i very politley made an enquiry about whether the directors was off. used to go ther a lot. will not be in the future.

Great pub: quick & friendly staff, good beers (warm & cold), fireside seating, outdoor seating, great food.

I'm actually unsure how this pub exists, tucked away in terrible Kennington/Walworth it has a really charming atmosphere and is never too crowded. Thankfully the potato heads from the overhanging council estates seem to find Monahan's round the corner more enticing.
A gem.

Used to be my favourite pub in walworth before Monaghan's opened. Staff are friendly, draught lager a bit ropey, nice relaxed atmosphere inside & out (bistro feel).
Best pub in walworth for relaxing & drinking in the sun. Menu's gone a bit stale now & quality of food isn't always great.
Food at Monaghan's, walworth rd is better & more modern, as are the surroundings

It's a nice place with good beer and friendly staff, but the food has gone right downhill recently. I was served a hard dry inedible piece of fish, and when I sent it back the staff didn't seem interested - no apology or offer of an alternative until I complained - which didn't get me anywhere. So, go for a drink but don't order the food!
