Not really sure why this pub has got such lukewarm reviews. In a town where venturing out for a pint can be taking your life in your hands, the Bunch is a breath of fresh air for me. Friendly staff, nice locals, comfortable surroundings and award winning ales (Otleys O1 is truly fantastic), and I've not even started on the food yet. The lunches in the Bunch are superb value. Expect to pay around £12 for 2 lunches with drinks (I've paid more for KFC). How they can make a profit on these given the quality ingredients they use, I really don't know. The evening menu is more expensive (£14 for a main), but always fantastic and the considerable selection of specials always changing. My only criticisms of the Bunch are: 1. Bring back the sausage sandwich on the lunch menu 2. Lunches can be a little inconsistent. The kitchen B team sometimes used, it seems to me. Oh, also a dog friendly pub, and a great place to watch the rugby. rhys4wales - 24 Aug 2009 16:37
One of three Otley owned pubs in the area. Interior is not too bad, though the layout could be a little better. Generally a good selection of ales - usually 2-3 otley beers plus 2 or so guest ales, all well kept, a couple of ciders on gravity and some continental beers in bottles. Main letdown is the staff tend to be generally unfriendly, even if you are a regular - not sure if they prefer Welsh patrons to English. pjprior - 17 Aug 2009 15:53
Cosy, old fashioned feel to this pub, and an impressive range of real ales. Three Cliffs Gold was my favourite, but it also stocks the Otley Brewery ales - with O2 being my choice. Quite an interesting range of bottled beers / ciders too. edward_hodge - 22 Feb 2009 19:13
