| Called in here with my 90 year old father for a meeting of the Italian Star Association, because The Royal British Legion across the road was undergoing renovations. The members, most of whom fought in the 2nd World War, at Monte Cassino etc; were told that if they were to hold a meeting in the pub it would cost them �60. The pub had benefited from their business on previous occasions. In the end they just had to make do with a chat, without reading out the minutes, having a raffle etc; Makes you proud to be British doesn't it? wormtruck - 25 Jan 2011 19:16 |
