Nice looking pub in tourist magnet waterside location. Nice enough interior with fireplace, beams etc but not particuarly exceptional, especially once you enter the rambling rear bar areas. I liked the leaded glass over the bar but have no dea if this is an original feature.A welcome destination after walkng from Totnes. I tried Palmers copper which was clean and well kept and flavoursome. Bit pricey though at £3.30/pint. tarkatherotter - 31 May 2011 08:48
Another super spot in Devon by Bow Bridge at the head of Bow creek, myself and my wife had gone for a short walk before stopping firstly at the Maltsters at Tuckenhay and then we came here to eat, a fair bit cheaper for food than the Maltsters but yet again beer prices are a little expensive, however, cheaper than the Maltsters from what i had. We ate here and the food was good. certainly worth a stop. Trouty - 4 May 2011 10:21
Have been visiting the Watermans for the last eight years and staying for the last six years. My wife and I both love the location and the place got even better when Rob and Jane took over. The food is very good and the staff are friendly. I'm not that keen on Palmers beer but it's always a well kept pint and perfectly quaffable. I do recommend the pub to anyone visiting Devon and do so in the knowledge that they will have good beer, good food and a cracking time there. Kwaigy - 1 Nov 2010 16:15
Stayed here. Was made instantly welcome by landlord & locals. (Good luck with the "extreme kayaking", Scott!) Agree previous comments re Palmer's beer but it is a brewery tied house after all and Palmer's is half decent. Fantastic breakfasts, good service and an all-round pleasant time was had by all. mousefan - 1 Aug 2010 10:24
When we went for a winter weekend break we were impressed that they were making a real effort to make this pub a good experience. Palmers beer isn't the most exciting but it was well kept, food was interesting and very tasty. Bed and breakfast was also very good. Grabber - 20 Mar 2010 09:48
